My Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy of teaching focuses on providing an environment that puts my students first. My students are my number one priority and I hope to enrich their school experience and knowledge as best as I can. With this being said, I am catered to making sure that each student is able to learn depending on their learning style. I want my students to be able to learn in a way that best fits them. If a student is better at hands-on learning then I want that student to have as many hands-on opportunities as possible. It is very important to me that each student gets to learn in a way that they find suitable in order for them to be successful.

Additionally, I feel that the atmosphere of our classroom should be full of positivity and self-discovery. It is important that we focus on the positives and not solely on the negatives. Students need this continuing encouragement in order to establish confidence in their own success. Once students realize they can do it, they will be able to. As for self discovery, I want students to be able to question their own thoughts and reach their own conclusions as they obtain new knowledge. It is important that each student plays an active role in their learning and establish their own voice as we learn together.

Lastly, I want each student to feel safe, loved, and valued. At the end of the day, I hope to create an environment that makes each student feel happy to be there. No one wants to be in a place that makes them feel uncomfortable. It is my duty as a teacher to create the best learning experience and provide a safe space to do so. In order to foster development, I hope to establish a relationship with my students to make everyday feel like a special one, and to better understand them. This understanding can enhance the learning environment. In other words, I want my students to be able to come to me for anything they need.
